Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management (SBS EM @ ULB), renowned for its commitment to academic excellence and innovation, is proud to announce a pivotal development in its educational offerings. Beginning September 2024, both of its historical bachelor programs, the Bachelor in Business Engineering and the Bachelor in Economics, are offered in English, marking a significant milestone in the school's journey towards internationalization.

This strategic decision underscores SBS EM's dedication to sharing Ernest Solvay's visionary approach to education with a global audience. By offering these prestigious programs in English, the school aims to attract talented students from diverse cultural backgrounds and provide them with a world-class education grounded in Solvay's core values of scientific rigor, dedication, and problem-solving skills.

The Bachelor in Business Engineering, a flagship program of the school, equips students with advanced knowledge in management, a deep understanding of industrial processes, and economic mechanisms. Emphasizing the importance of language proficiency in today's interconnected world, the program requires applicants to have a B2 level of English proficiency. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to enhance their language skills in French, and either Dutch or German, thereby preparing them for success in a globalized business environment.

Similarly, the Bachelor in Economics program embraces Solvay's multidisciplinary vision by imparting advanced knowledge in economics while also emphasizing general culture and language proficiency. Through a curriculum that focuses on applied economics and quantitative methods, students gain theoretical insights and practical skills that are essential for tackling real-world economic challenges. By offering this program in English, SBS EM opens doors for international students to engage with economic theories and practices from a global perspective.

The decision to introduce English-taught bachelor programs reflects SBS EM's commitment to staying at the forefront of higher education and meeting the evolving needs of today's students. By embracing linguistic diversity and cultural exchange, the school enriches the academic experience for all its students while further solidifying its position as a leading institution in business and economics education.

As SBS EM continues to expand its global footprint, it remains dedicated to fostering a community of forward-thinking leaders who are equipped to address the complex challenges of the 21st century. With the introduction of English-taught bachelor programs, the school takes another bold step towards fulfilling its mission of shaping the future of business and economics on a global scal.
